November Presidency Message

Most of us just enjoyed a bountiful Thanksgiving feast, and we numbered the many blessings that we have received from a loving Heavenly Father! This month, as we celebrate the birth of the Savior, we have the opportunity to partake of a SPIRITUAL FEAST, by increasing our effort to draw nearer to Him. As we contemplate His miraculous birth, His perfect life, and the reality of His atoning sacrifice and glorious resurrection, let us strive to center our lives in Him - through fasting and prayer, studying and pondering

His teachings, and through following His supreme example of unselfish service. It is our hope that amid the hustle and bustle of the season, that each of you will find a quiet moment to feel His love for you, and

to express your love to Him. May our hearts be filled with gratitude and joy as we celebrate His life this Christmas season! “O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!”

Merry Christmas!

Stake RS Fireside

The Stake Relief Society Fireside was excellent. We are grateful for our new Stake Relief Society Presidency and the time they took to prepare the wonderful messages that were shared with us. The Spirit was very strong in the room. We understand not everyone could be there tonight, so we would like to share one challenge that the Stake RS President, Sister Bundy, shared:

Read and study Doctrine and Covenants Section 138

We love each and every one of you and pray that you might feel that love each day.

Love,
The Relief Society Presidency

Baked Oatmeal

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Scant 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ripe bananas, cut into 1/2-inch/1 cm pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F Generously butter the inside of an 8-inch square baking dish.

In a bowl, mix together the oats, pecans, the sugar, the baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, butter, and the vanilla.

Arrange the bananas in a single layer in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle two-thirds of the berries over the top. Drizzle honey over bananas and honey. Cover the fruit with the oat mixture. Slowly drizzle the milk mixture over the oats. Gently give the baking dish a couple thwacks on the counter top to make sure the milk moves through the oats. Scatter the remaining berries across the top.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the top is nicely golden and the oat mixture has set. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
